I was in Wakefield to see a friend & his band at the Snooty Fox & chose the Chasley Hotel at random which was fortunate that it was in the town centre & very convenient for the venue & train station.
The hotel was clean, tidy, good size room, with onsuit facilaties, for what I wanted it was perfect.
I was looking for basic accommodation for one night and that is what the Chasley Hotel provided, no complaints.
The room could have done with some decoration as it was starting to look tired. I was surprised that it was possible to fully open the windows on the fourth floor room I was in.
Cotton sheets, clean bathroom, good shower, soap and shampoo, tea making facilities. All you need for a stay. Hotel was quiet and the 3rd floor had great views over the area.
Not really a complaint about the hotel itself just the price. I stayed there last year and got a single room for £28. This year it was £40 and my friends, a couple paid £45. I am careful now about where I book as a single person and tend to be able to find single rooms at a reasonable price. I think all hotels need to have a more realistic attitude to single people as there are more of us. I would therefore think twice about staying here on cost alone. It would not stop me recommending it to couples.
town centre location free on site parking
It was value priced and in the city center...close to bus and coaches.
In the city centre, close to the train station, polite staff
The hotel requires a lot of maintenance, the list of broken or dodgy things is endless (in the room and around the hotel)
As me and my partner arrived in Wakefield we were welcomed by the friendly night reception man he was very polite and so helpful, this hotel is clean and meets veryhigh standards. The double bed was comfortable and a very big room lovely bathroom and the price is too amazing. When checking out the.morning staff were just as lovely I will definitely be booking this hotel again in the near future.
I have no complaints about this hotel everything meets high standards
We stayed at the hotel beacuse ofthe bad weather. The room was very spacious and very clean. The sheets were clean and the bed huge!!. The only bug bear was that the bath was quite small and you could not lay back and relax in it.There was a good size tv with free view tv . the staff were nice and friendly . We did not use the lounge bar but it looked very inviting and plan to use when we stay again. This hotel was real value for money!!!!
Clean room, adequate size, two single beds joined together, tea/coffee making facilities, very warm shower, fantastic location, nice entrance foyer and bar area.
Perhaps a little shabby, walls are quite thin, although it is in a quiet area, lift a little outdated.
Location was excellent , size of room was good
No remote for tv , I felt that the lock on the door was not very secure . Seral years ago this was one of the top hotels in wakefield , I feel it has let itself go somewhat however some rooms appear to have been refurbished to some extent
Felt very grubby in the rooms, The whole place is old and dirty
Staff tried their best
Walls are paper thin and if you're unlucky enough that the room next door is occupied by people having a party you will not get any sleep. There is also a disco attached to the hotel.
Location is everything. A short walk to everything.... Rail, Bus, shopping, and the city center. I would stay again if needed.
Would be nice to have a fridge in the room.... The food at the pub is ok.
A modest hotel at a modest price so all was ok. Excellent location.
Excellent location close to train station and central to the town. Friendly staff.
